Application of two-parameter dynamical replica theory to retrieval dynamics of associative memory with non-monotonic neurons

چکیده
The two-parameter dynamical replica theory (2-DRT) is applied to investigate retrieval properties of non-monotonic associative memory, a model which lacks thermodynamic potential functions. 2DRT reproduces dynamical properties of the model quite well, including the capacity and basin of attraction. Superretrieval state is also discussed in the framework of 2-DRT. The local stability condition of the superretrieval state is given, which provides a better estimate of the region in which superretrieval is observed experimentally than the self-consistent signal-to-noise analysis (SCSNA) does.

Oscillatory Associative
Associative recall and completion of information is one of the astonishing abilities of intelligent living beings. The search for mechanisms which produce this ability of associative memory yielded a class of computational systems composed of many neuron-like, non-linear units. The neural units are connected to artiicial neural networks. The basic principle of associative information recall is ...
متن کاملRetrieval and Chaos in Extremely Diluted Non-Monotonic Neural Networks
We discuss, in this paper, the dynamical properties of extremely diluted, non-monotonic neural networks. Assuming parallel updating and the Hebb prescription for the synaptic connections, a flow equation for the macroscopic overlap is derived. A rich dynamical phase diagram, was obtained, showing a stable retrieval phase, as well as a cycle two and chaotic behavior. Numerical simulations were p...
متن کاملOrder-Parameter Flow in the SK Spin-Glass II: Inclusion of Microscopic Memory Effects
We develop further a recent dynamical replica theory to describe the dynamics of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick spin-glass in terms of closed evolution equations for macroscopic order parameters. We show how microscopic memory effects can be included in the formalism through the introduction of a dynamic order parameter function: the joint spin-field distribution. The resulting formalism describes...
متن کاملStability analysis of associative memory network composed of stochastic neurons and dynamic synapses
We investigate the dynamical properties of an associative memory network consisting of stochastic neurons and dynamic synapses that show short-term depression and facilitation. In the stochastic neuron model used in this study, the efficacy of the synaptic transmission changes according to the short-term depression or facilitation mechanism. We derive a macroscopic mean field model that capture...
متن کاملDynamical Behavior of a Rigid Body with One Fixed Point (Gyroscope). Basic Concepts and Results. Open Problems: a Review
The study of the dynamic behavior of a rigid body with one fixed point (gyroscope) has a long history. A number of famous mathematicians and mechanical engineers have devoted enormous time and effort to clarify the role of dynamic effects on its movement (behavior) – stable, periodic, quasi-periodic or chaotic. The main objectives of this review are: 1) to outline the characteristic features of...
